Mediterranean moray eel (Muraena helena)

moray.jpg ThumbnailsEuropean barracuda (<i>Sphyraena sphyraena</i>)

Found lurking in holes and crevices as it is mainly a nocturnal predator. The continuous opening and closing of the mouth is not an aggressive action; it is necessary for the moray to breath as it runs water over its gills.
